Kolobe Johannes Tshepiso Mafalo

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our friend, colleague, counsellor and ambassador, Jo MAFALO ex Orange Farm. Jo passed away on the 20 September 2023, leaving his wife, Vumile and daughter, Hlompho.

Jo was a man of many talents, a beloved teacher and upright community member. He quickly came to the fore in volunteering his time and services to NBASA, and helped us so many times in reaching out to other burn survivors. Through NBASA, he completed a counselling course and used this continuously to help others, despite his own sufferings.

Johannes faced his challenges with fortitude, dignity and a wonderful smile. We will forever remember his bass voice in the “Youth on Fire” choir, started by the Orange Farm members.

Our gentle giant will be greatly missed by NBASA and remembered in all we do. Fly high with the angels, Jo!

His first act of support was in our electronic communications and social media space.
