NBASA Ambassador (Eastern Cape)
Nombulelo
Nombulelo, an NBASA Ambassador from the Eastern Cape, has faced a lifelong journey of resilience after suffering severe burns as a child. From the age of four, she traveled regularly to Red Cross Children’s Hospital for treatments aimed at improving her scars. The constant stares and medical procedures left her feeling withdrawn, making childhood a challenging experience.
Enduring numerous surgeries, skin grafts, and painful tissue expansion treatments, she found a sense of control in actively participating in her own healing process. Despite the trauma, Nombulelo’s journey is one of perseverance and strength, inspiring others to navigate their own paths with courage.
